I heard on Have i got News for you (A news/comedy/panel show in the UK) that the people here actually gave top points to Poland's entry, although somehow that translated to us giving top points to Conchita/Austria, due to the judge panel thing. The show (Eurovision) is political, and totally fake and fixed.

I understand the point. Many gameshows work in that 50/50 method. People are idiots, and Eurovision is about voting for a song, not a song's boobs. Which is why a panel is necessary.

And they voted for a 'bearded woman'/man in drag attention whore instead? At the very least, I see no moral difference. The only thing the panel did was replace one vote probably not for the song with another vote probably not for the song in a quite obviously politically motivated or at least politically charged show.

At least a vote is a vote, and if they say they are asking the people of x country which act they liked best, the result should reflect the actual vote. Otherwise you've got a situation where people who supposedly intrinsically love democracy and liberalism in all it's forms, do not show any regard or respect to the actual popular vote. And you would have also thought that these people, loving of free choice and all, would be quite fine to accept people voting for a particular country for whatever reason they so fancied.

The panel should be removed entirely, it's not neccesary.

Or they should just not bother with a public vote, and maybe just have one guy in each country decide what he likes the best while he gorges himself on the finest politically correct cake, it would certainly streamline the process.

I personally liked the Swiss, Dutch and Albanian entries the most, going off of musical preference.
