My enjoyment of it was spoilt by its anglophobia, but yes.

You don't make sense at all with this statement. Anyway I am guessing you mean 'they exaggerated' with the movie and there are many historical inaccuracies like the second battle with the Irish helping the scots....the irish had little to do with that war and the scots actually invaded Ireland. The Irish were more so on the side of England in that war and also aligned more with wales [many irish aristocrats were related to the Welsh and Southern English Normans]. It is a cool movie as the costumes and weaponry were from that time period [except kilts were not invented yet].

Yeah, it wasn't a bad film, but it wasn't correct of course. Wallace didn't exist at the same time as Edward II by like 100 years, just for starters.

the conflict had more to do with Edward the Longshanks vs Bruce over who inherited the Scottish throne. I think the king before Bruce was Alexander and he was suppose to marry his daughter off to Edward the Longshanks [none of this is even mentioned in the film]. correct me if I made any mistakes it has been awhile since I looked at history of the british islands.

Yep. Nor did Wallace unite the Scots or invade England.
