Default Top Movies Of All Time

    1. Mulholland Drive (2001 Mystery (imdb rating: 8:0)):
This movie is a work of genius. Every scene is good on it's own, without the need to understand what exactly is happening throughout the movie. Slow paced and strange dialogues, good acting and unforgettable soundtrack makes "Mulholland Drive" my favorite movie of all time.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By2iS9uHGM0

    2. Life Of Brian (1979 Comedy (imdb rating: 8.2)):
Monthy Python tells a story of mistaken messiah.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Xf8IGuuIk

    3. A Fish Called Wanda (1988 crime comedy (imdb rating: 7.6)):
A movie about robbery gone wrong. I have never laughed so much in my life.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqAJUlSRCwo

    4. The Fifth Element (1997 sci fi comedy (imdb rating: 7.6)):
The movie is not considered to be comedy, though for me it is first and foremost a comedy with an epic story and great action and very funny dialogues.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkX7dHjL-aY

    5. 12 Monkeys (1995 sci fi mystery (imdb rating: 8.1)):
James is on a mission to save the world. But the world thinks he's crazy.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15s4Y9ffW_o

    6. Pan's Labyrinth (2006 fantasy (imdb rating: 8.3)):
A tale about suffering and sacrifice.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqYiSlkvRuw

    7. Six Days Seven Nights (1998 adventure romantic comedy (imdb rating: 5.7)):
Why can't they make such comedies any more? Now we get comedies with lots of swearing, obscenities, drinking and drugs using, and all sorts and all round depravity. "Six Days Seven Nights" is a light movie to watch, without getting offended. It is just one flawless feel good comedy.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyPGyDSwCu0

    8. Bedazzled (2000 comedy (imdb rating: 5.9)):
Comedy about a deal with the devil. It just can't go right.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xUnFbyqNr4

    9. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011 action (imdb rating: 7.4)):
The reason why I place this movie so high is not so much for it's greatness. More because it has no flaws. It is just a good action movie with some funny lines. One can relax and watch it without much thinking.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0LQnQSrC-g

    10. The Dark Knight (2008 action (imdb rating: 9.0)):
The Joker with his quote worthy lines makes this movie stand out of all superhero flicks. He probably is the closest movie character has ever got to Nietzsches ubermensch.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXeTwQWrcwY

    11. Rear Window (1954 mystery thriller (imdb rating: 8.6)):
Movie about watching neighbors over a rear window. It's like reality tv old school. Though dialogues and suspense is what makes the movie so good.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kCcZCMYw38

    12. The Bourne Identity (2002 mystery action (imdb rating: 7.9)):
Bourne has to find out who he was in the past and what he should do in the future. The movie has great story, great chaces, engaging romance and well done mystery.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpKaB5dvQ4g

    13. The Bourne Supremacy (2004 action (imdb rating: 7.8)):
This move is what action movies should be like. There is no one clear objective Bourne is trying to achieve. He just has objectives for very short time frame. Once each is accomplished, he goes on to the next. At the end, when it seemed he got what he wanted, there is still last thing to do for Bourne.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-HqyyfBbSo

    14. Dinner For Schmucks (2010 comedy (imdb rating: 5.9)):
The few flaws the move has is entirely compensated by continuous flow of comedy.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FHlvEc3vaE

    15. The Cabin In The Woods (2012 horror comedy (imdb rating: 7.1)):
"You think you know the story? You think you know the place? Think again." The movie was promoted to be something we have never seen. And it was. It touches on so many themes, we have never seen mixed in one film: slut/ virgin, jock/ nerd, conspiracy, ignorant choice of fate, reality tv, ritual blood sacrifices, demons, end of the world... The movie is not considered to be comedy, but for me it is. First half is mostly comedy, second half is horror with comedic inserts. One can't be afraid and amused at the same time. So it is more fun than scary. The propaganda moral of the story is that conspiracy theorist will cause the end of the world.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsIilFNNmkY

    16. The Departed (2006 crime thriller (imdb rating: 8.5)):
Movie about two sides trying to uncover the enemies infiltration in their midsts. The suspense is maintained from the beginning to the end.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGWvwjZ0eDc

    17. Looper (2012 sci fi mystery (imdb rating: 7.5)):
Movie about rainman (sun god ra in man- Anti Christ) child, finite loop of life, silver, China.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iQuhsmtfHw

    18. Meet Joe Black (1998 mystery (imdb rating: 7.1)):
    Movie about grim reaper.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zIOjl93WrU

    19. Eyes Wide Shut (1999 mystery (imdb rating: 7.3)):
A movie about sex rituals and uncompromising measures of a cult.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEfyfcEdW4Y

    20. The Matrix (1999 sci fi (imdb rating: 8.5)):
A movie about mind fakery of reality.

Some of those films deserve to be on top. But saying 'of all Time' and only including one classic, Rear Window? Nah...

    My personal top :

    1. The Passion of Joan of Arc - Carl Theodor Dreyer (1928)

    2. Werckmeister Harmonies - Béla Tarr (2001)

    3. Andrei Rublev - Andrei Tarkovsky (1966)

    4. Sunrise - Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau (1927)

    5. Citizen Kane - Orson Welles (1941)

    6. The Seventh Seal - Ingmar Bergman (1957)

    7. Au hasard Balthazar - Robert Bresson (1966)

And many more. Honestly I've never bothered making a top.

I've tried several times and it's just impossible. At least if you want to be honest with the 'best of all time', specially when you consider old and new European and Asian films too. It's much easier if one reduces the scope to, let's say, best expressionist films from the Weimar Republic, best Nouvelle Vague films, best Westerns from Classical Hollywood, best East Asian horror in the 21st century, etc.

That's why every top I make of the sort is always the top of what I know and like and recall at the moment. I could never pretend having a sufficient culture of cinema (especially in regards to people I know) to have the last word on the world's best.

The only thing I really have my mind set on is the Passion of Joan of Arc being the absolute best film I've ever seen.

Disagree with the list. Come on. The Fifth Element? Really? Where are masterpieces like Lawrence of Arabia, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Star Episode IV, The Godfather?
