Question Studying in Bulgaria and re-emigrating to Bulgaria for ethnic Bulgarians. Need advice on the subject

Hello guys. First of all sorry for the long post.
My name is Vladimir. I was born in Odessa, Ukraine. However I happen to be an etnic Bulgarian. And I am also in a process of receiving a Bulgarian citizenship should receive a Bulgarian passport by the end of August.
So why am I actually creating a thread?

I was considering of emigrating back to the historical motherland. My parents are good with it, however, they are not going to help me much in this matter.
While researching forums for Russian speaking people who are currently residing in Bulgaria I unfortunately have not seen the info that I have needed. Basically what I have heard is that there is a program in Bulgaria for the repatriants which allows you to study in one of the universities and receive a small stepend. And of course I have not heard or seen any solid arguments or ways onto how to apply for one of these programs. I have also contacted some of the universities in Bulgaria, but their reply was way off topic of what I have asked. I think this is because they already perceive me as a citizen. The Bulgarian consulate in my city is not in a power to elp me also.

As for now I own an old Mitsu Galant and selling it will get me to Bulgaria and cover a year of my studying and living. But I am afraid to go completely broke in a country where I have no fundument, same happened to me when I was living in the US for 5 years and had to leave it and everything behind also.
I have also complete a year studying Bulgarian language, as my parents have not taugt me it. I understand it( But I assume we speak some form of an oudated dialect as in Sofia the language is somewhat different), but can not write nor speak it.

So if any of you guys have some knowledge about the subject, I would aprecciate any information, tips, and advices. As this is my current wish to be re-united with the place my ancestors came from.
    Thank you.

You should know that there is a reason why young people want to escape from Bulgaria.

You need to tell us which uni you plan to study and what. Generally don't expect Bulgarian unis to give you any money.

Well, I would be more then glad if you could tell me about the reason to escape from Bulgaria.

I would not lie and say that when I was there doing my passport procedures around a year ago. I have noticed either very small kids pre-teen or old people. Have not seen much of the people my age group, which has really surprised me.

However, I believe that with the right attitude and the love and being fond of this place, I would make a good living. And I have really felt in love with it.
Also, I do not see as muc reasons to escape Bulgaria compared to Ukraine. I feel that the army will come for me soon. And being a Bulgarian I dont feel like joining the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

Bulgaria is definitely better than Ukraine but don't expect much. Just tell us what you plan to study and we can answer you if you have any chances of realization here or not.

Hi there Trun, thanks for the interest. I have been trying to contact Софийски Университет, Университет за национально и световно стопанство, и НБЮ (but I am not sure about this one). I was planning onto studying International relations or Political studies.
I dont really expect to receive money from anybody, just thougt that would help me establish myself over the first year, before I would find a job.

Finding a job is quite hard unless you are at least third or fourth year. If you plan to work on your specialization, I mean.
You are welcomed of course. It is always pleasant to see Bulgarians willing to return to Bulgaria.

Better go to Russia. Ukriane is a shit hole. Bulgaria is better than Ukraine and surely better than most parts in Russia but Bulgaria is only nice if you have money.
Studying there is awful I can imagine (I study in Vienna, the most healthy city in the world and conditions here aren't great either in comparison to american Universities or french/english.)

Университет за национално и световно стопанство is probably the best University in the country for International relations. НБУ on the other side is better for political science, because of the laboratories in which you can participate. 1200 euro is the tax for a year. The University has some programs for a scholarship and stuff that can reduce you the tax a loooot.

If you have questions we can try you to help you in this thread. If you have some worries about anything connected to your move to Bulgaria, getting documents, etc, you can write me an direct mail for swapping skype.
