If you are a "negro cabesa" it is sure you must look like any ordinary Mexican. There are many mestizos in Argentina, too.

In my imagination the Euro Argentinians are typical Europeans (and then there are various levels of Native admixture..)

    Well... quite accurate.
The bulk of the argentinian population have similar difference to southern Euros as the difference between afrikaners and dutch people.
May be a little more, but not too much more.

    Spaniards.

An interesting thread would be if argentines look closer to Mexicans or Italians. Despite huge Italian influence in Argentina, the Iberian component is higher.

Hard to tell since I don't know if mexicans are really as amerindian as many people here claim them to be.I just came back from Buenos Aires and it was my first time there,so my experience is limited to the argentine capital...taking BsAs alone,I'd put them as slightly closer to the spaniards, even though many people there showed amerindian traits, the population as a whole looked more european than thought it would

Of course, Mexicans are diverse, but there has to be a more common type/textbook Mexican, which would be a balanced Mestizo, right?
The problem is that many people have misconceptions/stereotypes about Latam. Iberian looking Mexicans and Pred-Euro Mestizos are seen as a normal part of Mexico's diversity just as the balanced Mestizos and Indo-Mestizo ones.

Buenos Aires city (and specially the downtown ) has the highest concentration of latin american immigrants. I dont think its the best example of Argentina.

Buenos Aires province is a better example IMO

Buenos Aires is the most multicultural city of the country, and has a lot of immigrants, especially in the city centre. You'll see the highest concentration Whites, Asians, Natives, Blacks, Jewish, etc. together in the country. It's like New York City in the US.

Yeah,I imagined that was the case, just like the city of Săo Paulo is less white than the state as a whole due to the high concentration of migrants from the Northeast. But as I said,I've stayed only in the autonomous city of Buenos Aires,my experience with the province is limited to Ezeiza hahahaha.I enjoyed my trip a lot,so I might come back soon to see more of the province and other parts of the country
