My understanding of NDE is everyone who has experienced it feel pretty good about themselves. It's the ultimate high.

I find it a bit insulting to victims of a crime that they suffer further in the after life because they couldn't forgive someone who behaved horribly.

The reason an unforgiving person suffers is because hate is a destructive and toxic emotion. By not forgiving someone you become his prisoner.



The healing power of forgiveness is well researched by scientists. When you have a resentment, grievance or fear, these emotions are negative vibrations that release hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.

These hormones have effects on the cardiovascular and on the immune systems. You become immune compromised, even your platelets get jittery with the high levels of adrenaline and they start the clothing cascade leading to cardiovascular illnesses, heart attacks and stroke. The healing power of forgiveness is the key to peace, health and happiness. Certain people deemed "unworthy" of forgiveness such as murderers, rapists, ex-spouses, parents, bad children, etc. are often excluded as candidates for forgiveness. No person is innately bad. I can agree that forgiving someone can be beneficial to one's health and state of mind. I, however, have a hard time forgiving others and even a harder time forgiving myself. So I guess I'm in for a treat at the end of my road.
