Why didn't Ottomans colonize the Americas?

The Ottomans were a super power at the time of the colonization of the new world. Why didn't they colonize the Americas? Seriously that's a very interesting question

They were never the primary power in the Atlantic. I think a more interesting question would be if they could colonize the Indian Ocean/Southeast Asia.

Real reason initially was that Columbus was trying to get to India, around the Ottomans who where holding the center position in the crossroads of three continents and trade routes.

What if the Ottmans had really colonized the Americas? Imagine a Turkish-speaking Sunni Muslim country in Latin America. That would be crazy and interesting!

Superpower? lol that made me laugh hard. The Ottomans were one of the most uncivilized, unsophisticated people ever. Wherever they went they left trails of blood behind and civilization disappeared from view, to quote the British ambassador to Turkey at that time. The Ottomans lacked technognosy and the 'know how'. Whatever little they knew on how to run an empire they got it from Byzantines and Arabs.

No access to the Atlantic Ocean. They also had colonies in the ME, Europe and Africa. They tried to gain more lands in the east but they were confronted by strong empires/regional powers ( safavids, Afshars and qajars).
