Well, i agree that apricity is supposed to be a European cultural forum and i would like to talk about Europe , if wanted to learn about Asia then i would pick an Asian forum...On the other hand since we have an Asian subforum is fine for people to post here anything and everything they like about Asia and Asian cultures .

Personaly i dont mind seeing Asian people trying to promote their countries and their cultures and from time to time i check here to learn a thing or two about Asian cultures as well, what i do have problem with is when people pretend to be something they are not like Asians trying to pass as Europeans .

Well you can thank Loki for it
I think my point was missed ....What i said was that you have the right to post your culture , like everyone else, and is well appreciated since you dont try to pass it as European but you present it as something Phillipine....About the ancestry and the European infuences, nice for you, it still doesnt make it European....never the less the result is beautifull and pretty dances are always something to be proud of .

Yeah, it's influences so it's definitely not European and was introduced by French then the Spaniards introduced it in the Philippines.
What I mean from being not Asian is the origin of the dance. But for us we don't considered this dance as foreign already because we used it. Usually, they dance this in Junior and Senior Prom or in Debut party similar to Latin America Quinceañera or they dance in Malacanang Palace.

This is Cotillion de Amor/Honor usually they dance it during Junior and Senior Prom
    and Debut Party

The cotillion is a type of patterned social dance that originated in France in the 18th century.

nah, flamenco is not filipino folk dance and singing, it's japanese!!!

I'm not a flamenco expert at all, I'm a passive sufferer of it , but I'd say japanese perform a great flamenco.

    Strange world.
