Why Yankees don't like soccer?

Too demanding physically. Running 90 minutes in heat, sprinting at that, no fun. Pay attention to sports popular in the US. Golf, baseball, bass fishing etc, they are social events, business meetings. You can't be overweight, and play soccer, or have a beer belly.

Plus not enough scoring, compare basketball to soccer.

Americans have very short attention span, and want instant satisfaction.

Yeah it got 25 million viewers during the USA-Portugal game. I think the USA team can improve alot more but it will take time.

what i dont understand is how can they like sports that nobody else in the world plays...No international competition seems boring..

I love American football, and Baseball you grow up playing it and watching it thats how you get into these sports.
I can't get into hockey,rugby,golf etc.

my god there needs to be international hockey league.....that I could watch....I wouldn't mind our football being international but apparently it is not that popular outside of America.... compared to other more popular sports like soccer. I never was into soccer or basket ball. I use to like baseball but it is too boring to watch....its like watching golf on tv or watching paint dry on a wall......just too time consuming and not worth it.

Don't generalize. I'm not fat and I have a longer attention span than most people on this website, because half of you don't even bother to read some of the things I post.

Well, hockey is not an American game but Canadian. And although is very fast and rough, you can't compare the flight of a goalkeeper stopping a soccer balloon, with that robots that sits all covered stopping hockey pocks... No way, hockey is too much robotic.

and slamming someone into a board and punching them in the skull because you can is pretty fun.....I use to play it. I think hockey is far tougher than any sport out there right now unless your wild game hunting in Africa or somewhere off the grid. Its a north east thing.....if your Canadian you hate new Englanders....and the rivalry shows in our hockey games.....damn Canadians stole the cup again! [it could be because my dad is part French Canadian so its a passed down thing maybe?].....hockey to me though is a lot different than soccer....more dangerous. Soccer you might have to worry about heat exhaustion or accidently kicking someone in the head if they were on the ground....its not an easy sport but looks fun to play but boring to watch.
