If we're talking about a spectrum where white European is on one end and black subsaharan African is on the other end, I think Berbers would be a lot closer to SSA.

Pureblood Berbers are white, the most pure live in some areas of Morocco and in Kabylia, a region of northern Algeria. (it's true that most of them are mixed with Arabs, but there is a great number of them that look fully white). Moreover under the name Berbers are also included people like the Tuaregs which are black people who speak a Berber language.
It's like the Afro-Americans, they speak English, but they are not real Englishmen, the same could be said about the Tuaregs, they speak a Berber language but they are not real Berbers.
