Default Well thank you - to begin...

I am ethnically Englisc, and came upon Apricity from my recent joining of the Anglo-Saxon Foundation forum.

I wish to thank you first off, this is, I believe one of the few Cyber venues, that include England as a selectable option in the drop down box for "country".

Everywhere else my country seems to have disappeared and been replaced with "uk".

In the little Englisc I know (for now) Waes Hael

Sorry to butt in but what exactly is the significance with the alternative spelling? I suppose it is Old English?

Thank you BeornWulfWer... From the last day on, it is my personal mission, to regain my culture and heritage, as well as my language, as far as I am concerned I am ENGLISC, my lineage traces way way back. I am not crazy, I want my country back, it is my homeland, my long lost relatives gave their lives protecting what is now being "given" to all the immigrants who wash up on our shores. I am also a very proud English Nationalist and also a pacifist. The "c" is important to me and it saddens me that it is seen as embarrassing or childish. It also marks a distinction from all said immigrants who claim to be "English" because they "were born here"...

    Welcome, EngliscNative.

What is the difference between Englisc and English, I mean it is the same word, is it not? It is good to see interest in the cultural and historical heritage of your nation, but using ancient language as if it had not been out of use for half a millennia will appear a little outlandish to the average person. It is well suited for a nickname at an internet forum such as this one, but I don't think attempting to re-establish its everyday usage as something distinct from English is a good idea.

Nope, you belong here as much as anyone else.

I am English and the English language describes the spelling of my people (the English) as English. With an 'h'. It doesn't matter if someone who isn't English who describes oneself as English uses the term English, we ethnic English are still English.

If you wish to retreat back into the Dark Ages and give quarter to the invaders and describe yourself as Englisc with a 'c', then by all means do, but I will be here in the front line describing myself as English with an 'h', and not letting my peoples evolution be deteriorated by non-English.

I am English. Let that be carved upon my gravestone if it is so.
