Are Turks White?

Turks are white people, but the problem is that they are perceived to be a brown nation due to being Muslim. I know Turks who look and are treated like any other white dudes. But when you hear about the country Turkey, you (probably) associate it with brown-skinned people. This is where the confusion occurs.
