Not at all, the reason she scores like that can be explained by South German ancestry which makes her considerably more southeastern than average English. She can be fitted as 75% English 25% Romanian too.

Yes I said Irish, German and French Canadian. Maybe I should have specified which region of Germany.

His reference Germans are from the north, so that Germany + Tuscan probably is what she'd have gotten first if McDonald had done a custom fit for "Germany + other european"

Because South Germany is geographically closer to the Mediterranean, it's logical that the population shows some additional similarity to Italians compared to North Germans. The North/South difference isn't so extreme that South Germans could be described as 60% North German 40% Tuscan, in your mother's case French also pulls her towards Mediterranean.

Since half of my mom's ancestors were German, for this to work they would have to have been 40% Tuscan. Plus half the ancestors from Wurttemburg have Scandinavian and Anglo Saxon origin names so I think there is a bit of North German.

No, because the non-south german side also has mediterranean pull from the French part.

Overall her total mediterranean isn't much, since "English= 0.846 Tuscan= 0.154" is an even closer fit.
