Default If English is a Germanic language.....

doesn't that mean Western culture (or the world in general) is now dominated by Germanic principles?

1: It's the lingua franca (almost everyone in the world understands atleast some English) and the most spoken Germanic language today

2: In the United States the country was founded on Anglo-Saxon laws (NOT on the bible) and the government structure was a mixture of Germanic and the democracy/republic of ancient Rome and Greece.

3: Stop signs are almost always in English.

4: The British had colonies on all continents.

Democracy is also rooted in Nordic racial character if not Germanic.

It's a Germanic language. But it only became an adult to take into account when in contact with the real deal, the Latin ones.

The more serious the message, the more Latin English will look.
