    Varius shades of brown and golden blonde with a sizable minority of redheads and yellow and ash blondes. Hair texture is usually fine and wispy rather than coarse.

    I would say medium brown is more common but it doesn't really matter.

    I'd say you definitely have a point with the reddish undertones and fair skin.

    Here's a map of the MC1R (red hair) variant rate in each part of the UK:


    Note that having two variants pretty much guarantees red hair. Having just one variant generally gives red tint, fair skin, and freckling.

    For example, I'm compound heterozygous for the D294H and V92M MC1R mutations; while I don't have red hair (although I was born with it), there is a tint to it, my facial hair is red, and I'm skin type I (burns and freckles, never tans).
    Given the prevalence of MC1R variants among the English population, I wouldn't be surprised if this "half-ginger" phenotype were relatively common.
