There used to be a large German minority in Hungary before the second world war. A friend of my fathers, both deceased, was an ethnic German from Hungary whom immigrated to Australia after the war. He served in a German speaking regiment of the Hungarian army during the war. Josef Braun was his name.

Not different at all from NW Romanians. A significant number look Slavic, same as here. Compared to SW Romanians I am seing on a daily basis they are somewhat lighter, but only slightly!
Interesting that almost none looks Uralid/Turanid (=Ancient Magyar), which is very unlike Transylvanian Hungarians, especially Szekelers. There, because historically there was little admixture with Romanians (due entirely to religious reasons), Hungarians habitually display Magyar phenotypes...

Yes. Henkey's statistical estimate onto the typical German types in Budapest:
Alpinoid:
Budapest: 12,5%
total Hungarians*: 2,5%
Nordoid:
Budapest: 2,5%
total Hungarians: 0,4%
Cromagnoid:
Budapest: 1%
total Hungarians: 0,4%
*the Hungarian sample is surveyed, based on more than 30 thousands Hungarian.

Henkey did not deal with the rest of the data, since this statistical calculation was related to the examination of the German minority. The big cities' population is not examined from an anthropology viewpoint, because of the urban population's incalculable dynamics. Hard to calculate what represents a random urban sample from a statistical viewpoint.
