    except Sardinian and in part Balearic Catalan that get their articles and from "ipsum - ipsa" (himself, herself), in Sardinian we have "su, sa" for singular, "sos, sas" for plural in northern Sardinian (from ipsos, ipsas) and "is" for plural in southern Sardinian (from "ipsis")

    also the personal pronouns have the same root :

    issu = he
    issa = she
    isse = it

    (ipse, ipsa, ipsum)

    in Italian there are also "esso, essa" from the same root, but they are quite antiquated

    To me it sounds like castilian spoken by an italian mouth. Vowel and consonant phonemes are the same except for θ.
