Will the South Tirol become the fifth independent German speaking country. With the Scottish independence vote this week, will the same type of campaign happen in the South Tirol?

The four German speaking countries are Germany, Austria, Switzerland(majority) and Lictenstein.

German is an official language in Luxembourg, too, and their native local language (Luxembourgish) is closer to German dialects than it is to Dutch.

Actually it be bigger than Luxembourg more than double the size. So it will not be the smallest country in Europe. Not including those micro countries like Andorra, San Marino and Liechtenstein.

South Tirol is 7,400 sq km

I hope and wish so! Südtirol belongs to the rest of Tirol..which is a part of Austria!

Now with the Scottish vote over, and the no vote won, therefore Scotland remains part of the UK, now it is time for the South Tyrolese to vote yes in their referendum, to show Europe it can be done! It be interesting if the South Tirol became an independent state.
