Why do Moslems go crazy over their religion, even resorting to violence.

Because in the Arab world Islam has been strongly embedded in their ethnic identity, so insulting Islam is like insulting their whole being.
You would not have that same reaction in Turkey, Bosnia or Kosova. No one would care if Islam is insulted but in case of Scanderbeg I think people would like to revenge or react back.

That's right. They developed algebra. Why didn't they keep up with their scientific development. What I remember vaguely was that the Mullahs were against these new discoveries, that it was against their god. So they put up a fatwa no more scientific discoveries.

If you were conquered by Turks and were dhimmis for 500 years + how could you be western? The difference between balkans and say the reconquista are those crucial 500 years. Iberia is Western...catholicism is Western, etc. But you? your cuisine is levantine, your 'homeland' Anatolia is considered Near East, etc. You looking down on Muslims would be like a Ethiopian or Coptic Egyptian looking down on us
