I've read that letter. I read Tarja's and her husband's letters too.

Tuomas says Tarja became a bitch, but the usual opinion is that Tuomas is a pompous controlfreak (The latter pretty much confirmed by Anette after she was fired).

Personally, I thought it was cowardly.

I thought the open letter was vindictive and immature of the band. It wasn't decent or considerate behaviour. They did it on purpose to be spiteful to Tarja.

Finland has a small population, but they built the worlds largest cruiseliner, gave the world great music bands, and invented heart-rate monitors, and they keep putting out funny vids on YT against their competitive and friendly rival Sweden (but then Swedes do the same to Finns on YT,) it's funny. I personally love the look of the landscapes and cultures of Finland and Norway, but I've never taken as much interest in Sweden. The Finns and Norwegians seem much more aware and proud of their history and origins and seem to have more of a deep-rooted culture.

In 1939 American sympathy for Finland.

In spite of the great publicity, Finland received little effective military help. The Swedish unit with Norwegians thrown in was the only significant foreign unit to see action. The volunteer movement made greater impact on psychological front: the Finnish people felt that they had not been totally abandoned although the sympathy without action generated some sombre comments among Finns. The fact that little effective military help managed to reach Finland was in turn proof that the Western democracies could not give any guarantees for Finland's freedom. This was even more evident when soon after the Winter War Germany occupied Denmark and Norway thus effectively cutting any routes from Finland to the West. This in turn was one factor in forcing Finland to accept German help against the Soviet threat.

Finnish people are one of the most superior people in the world, and one of the most Cro-Magnid too, which is basically the same thing anyway. Even if it is true that they have a few percent of Mongol admix, they are still more white and European than all of the present-day native inhabitants of S. Europe.

I'd probably wanna move to Finland if learning Danish wasn't way easier for an English speaker. Arguably the best country in the world right now and not affected that much by immigration, yet.. Hope the True Finns party gains power(I know they had to switch their name -_-).
