2) You'll have people falling down the stairs on purpose in order to miscarry.
3) You'll be putting people on trial with the possibility of getting the death penalty for lying who are genuine rape victims, and people who were thrown down the stairs by abusive boyfriends who don't want kids.

The pro-life solution isn't to punish women for wanting abortions. It's to punish doctors for performing them.

Imagine this: Your wife goes to the shop to buy groceries. On her way back, she is attacked and raped. A month later you find out that she is pregnant from this rape.

Is abortion still that uncomfortable? Less uncomfortable that going through nine months with a pregnancy, knowing that this baby is the result of a terrible, terrible incident? Raising a child who is not yours, who will remind you every day until you die that he/she was conceived by rape?

Not only that, but also the mental health impacts on both you and your wife, and also the child when he/she finds out that they are a product of rape.


EDIT: Imagine your mom gets raped and she finds out that she is pregnant? Is "abortion" still so uncomfortable?

the idea is that the child, even as a fetus, is a living person who is entirely innocent of what happened. what does the fact that the mother is uncomfortable have anything to do with the life of the child? in fact i'm not actually pro life and i don't disagree with you, but i don't see how this is so difficult for enlightened progressives to fathom...
