    Default Would you be 'uncomfortable'?

Now I'm friends with an Persian. Me and him are very good friends, and he has two female friends, who are also my friends by association.

One of them is married, her husband somewhere else in USA, the other one is single.

I invite them to the house, all 3 and what happens is me and my friend talk while the women go to kitchen and cook for us. They come out of kitchen and serve us food, and will keep serving us without us having to get up until we're full. Then they'd take food and come join us. Keep in mind neither of us have any relationship with these woman other than mere soft friendship.

Now sometimes I invite my American friends and I notice this makes them 'uncomfortable.' For example, it's very subtle, but they will get up from living room so the woman don't need to walk all the way with their food. They offer to help and do dishes. To me this is very funny but so typical for Americans.

I bring this up because of conversations we have in chat box, I'm curious how apricity will stand.

I'd never let my female friends serve me like that. I'd help in the kitchen to an extent, and afterwards help with the dishes, etc.

See your American. I notice this kind of response from Americans. Not very bad necessarily just your confused on role of women and men imo.

I don't like to be idle when my friends are active. I have no problem with waitresses waiting on me hand and foot, as I'm paying them to do just that, but in a situation like this I'd just feel like a lazy spoiled guy who needs to do something.

As for the OP, I would like people to offer to help (as it shows they're considerate), but I wouldn't let them help. I would like to take care of them.
On the other hand, when I go to someone's house I like to help with the food, or the wahsing up; try to ease their work.

Yes,you should have the decency to offer some help if someone cooks for you and serves you. It's called having "good manners".
