    Default The Census

Did you or are you going to fill it out?

lol I just heard on the news that only 3% of Floridians actually send the thing back. So it made me curious.
Often, in our attempts to show people that they do not know what they believe they do, it is exposed that they lack any identity whatsoever - beyond the belief that they know anything at all.

I'm still deciding. But no decision may be necessary, I think I lost the damn thing.

Of course I filled it out. I really can't understand why anyone, especially right wingers, would object to the census. I mean, seriously, it's not even like we're talking about a Constitutional amendment here—the census is mandated in the body of the constitution (1:2).

To my understanding, the right wingers are objecting to additional information being asked such as race, name, etc. Even that is just lame because there are other ways the government can find who you are...

These questions have always been on the census in the US though. They're the reason it's so easy for Old Stock Americans to trace their ancestries well into the 1700s on nearly all sides. If anything, I'd like the census to ask me more questions, so that we can get better demographic statistics and have tons of cool maps as a result.

I've heard reports of Census workings taking GPS of residents. Have you guys heard of this?
"Free, do you call yourself? Then I would hear your ruling thought, and not merely that you have escaped from a yoke. Are you one of those who had the right to escape from a yoke? Many a one has cast away his last worth when he has cast away his servitude. Free from what? What does that matter to Zarathustra! But your fiery eyes should tell me: free for what?" - Thus Spoke Zarathustra

It will make it harder for the left to claim 'disproportionate representation' if more whites are reported in the population.

The best thing to do is to not send it in, and wait for the worker to come out and interview you, because they double count some of those people in their 'estimates' which try to include people who were not counted in the official census.

What do you make of that 3% of Floridians figure, Psycho? Inbetween chuckles about it last evening, I concluded 1.) People come here (mostly) to completely detach from reality and don't want to be bothered 2.) The huge criminal population that enjoys lax extradition laws 3.) Illegals 4.) Confused snowbirds 5.) and general apathy.

6). an extremely large (in my part of the state at least) military population that is comprised of young, transient dudes who throw away government mail on sight (we get tons of surveys from Uncle Sam).

    Florida's a strange place.
