You know other peoples or towns of the Atlantic coast using this Indo-European or Celtic prefix?
It is generally accepted that the root cant- comes from Celtic for "rock" or "stone", while -abr was a common suffix used in Celtic regions. Thus, "Cantabrian" could mean "people who live in the rocks" or highlanders, a reference to the steep and mountainous territory of Cantabria
Canterbury seems to derive from Old English.

So the Atlantic Facade is basically The British Isles, Normandy, Brittany, Aquitaine, and Western Iberia?

Is this a real concept, or a strictly TA thing?

Ireland and all of Portugal and N. Spain, along the Bay of Biscay.

It's all too real. Read the material ... thousands of years old. People on TA are just idiotic
and have know idea. I've posted many references.

Canterbury seems to derive from Old English.
Briga is clearly Celtic; like Conimbriga in central Portugal. Was Cantabria ever known as "Cantabriga?" The Cantabria name is probably Celtic, I suspect.

Don't leave your day job to be a comedian, you won't last.

If you want to be part of the discussion, deal with the facts and ONLY the facts. All that counts is what the experts and academics have long said. Anything else is codswallop.

More Atlantic Facade and Atlantic Arc organizations:

    1) Atlantic Cities

    2) Toneta Project

    3) Atlantic Arc Commission

    http://arcatlantique.org/index.php?.act=,,,,,,,EN

    Plenty more on Google.

Contrary opinions are not relevant, as the academics and European organizations have spoken loud and clear.
