The US went into Iraq & couldn't change the 'mentality'. If anything they exasperate the situation. We have went from Saddam > Al Qaeda >IS ..United States couldn't stop that.

The Turkish aren't bothered about the Kurds & would have happily seen Kobane fall.

The potential mistake that IS could make is to bring Iran into a Civil war.

Really Muslim nations need to sort out Muslim problems. For long term sake.

I have little doubt that the IS will be shattered and many of their militants killed. It's a good thing that they flock to the region..putting all the wrotten eggs in one basket. Then crushing it.

However, the problem is that not all of them will remain in the Middle East, many will return to Europe before IS falls, and even if the jihadist reputation suffers a big blow from the cruelty it's practicing they will still be amongst us, considerably more dangerous than they were before. If our security forces and laws weren't so leninet, I wouldn't feel any less safe, because I'd know that as soon as they stepped their feet back in our continent, they'd be arrested and put on trial (or shot, whatever)..but I fear that will not be the case.
