Serbia recognizes Montenegrin ethnicity and language. If Bulgaria did the same with us, we could have Bulgaria as friend.

The common Montenegrin recognizes himself as a Serb. Why don't FYROManians do the right thing and recognize themselves as Bulgarians?

About 50% of them do. They are mountain Serbs as far as I know. The Albanians consider them Slavicized Albanians, so not all is clear there too.

As for Macedonians, we are not Tatar-Mongols

There are Montenegrins who vehemently deny they're Serb (they're usually coastal populations). The Brda clans are usually the strongest in declaring as Serb. It's quite a complicated picture in Montenegro.

I think its accurate to say that once upon a time they were Serbs, and now they're Montenegrins. It didn't help that both Montenegro and Serbia got their independence in parallel, with different ruling monarchs, separated by the Ottoman Empire (Sandzhak).

Oh well.

In terms of Croatia, Serbs only claimed the territories where ethnic Serbs made a sizable chunk. After all the borders of your country Croatia were drawn by a communist after WW2, its not like we had to accept those borders.

But oh well we did lose in Croatia (we sort of won in Bosnia), we had bad luck that the world would turn against us.

Bulgarian south Slavic blood overwhelms their Turkic blood (the average Bulgarian is only 5% turanid), but their Turkic-Mongol blood is still something to be proud of, the bulgars conquered a huge portion of Eastern Europe and the Eurasian steppe, and the bulgar identity continues to be the most relatable identity for Bulgarians (with some bulgar words even remaining in use in the bulgarian language). Also, Tatars are bulgars, but bulgars were not tatars. To say that the bulgars were tatars implies that they have kypchak blood from the Golden Horde, which the bulgars did not have.
