A new cold war?

With the events in Ukrainia and the sanctions who have been taken in both side. Do you think we are actually in a new cold war or we are taken the road to?

I beleive actually, we are far away from the intensity of the cold war but we will see a lot of proxy war.

during cold war russia led the soviet union and the soviet union led the warsaw pact, with additional alliances in africa, asia and latin america... it's not comparable to the current situation, russia is more isolated and weaker
and also the us are not the indiscutible first power as during cold war when their economy was an half of world gdp

i think that the situation is like europe at the end of xix century, this time on a global scale, not a bipolar scenario

Like many superpower country have the nuclear bomb, i hope they will try to avoid a direct conflict. And use proxy war to weakness the opposite side.

There always will be some kind of cold war meanwhile Russians are different civilization. And each time Russia gets some firm position (like with Syria or Ukraine), Western partners are trying to isolate it. History repeats itself. And these filthy sanctions show how weak Western partners are. It's all they can do because they cannot bomb us like they did to Yugoslavia.

I see it too, but I wanna know what started it:
1- Ukraine
2- Syria
3- Energy deals with countries not being in U$D

My theory is #3. They never say it, but it's always about the money.
In one of his speeches, Putin referred to "Russia maintaining sovereignty" - I would love to know exactly what he meant.
