Default Explain me, please, about origin of surname "Sirant"

so, i know a girl with surname "Sirant".
She looks like ordinary hohlushka from Ukraine and says, that it's a french surname, which means "castle" as she sayd.
Problem is that historically francias weren't in Ukraine.

Can anybody give me any other variant of origin this surname except french variant?
Romanian, jew or hungarian for example.

Has to be a corrupted surname. Never heard of it. Doesn't sound French unless it is misspelled. I googled it an nothing pops up. http://genealogy.familyeducation.com...meaning-origin

that site is pretty good. but the name isn't there. scroll down to 'surnames' and browse alphabetically.
