Trying to be politically correct is even more absurd when you realize that what is PC in a language is not in the other. In English, you see women wishing to be called 'actor' and not 'actress' because apparently it's sexist. While in the Romance languages, the sexist thing is not having a female version of the profession for women. So at the end of the day, better say things as you've always said them and be understood.
That reminds me the "presidente/presidenta" discussion.
