French is normally taught as a second language in most British secondary schools.

Although Polish is now England's second language spoken in the UK due to a lot of Polish speaking immigrants here, but also London has been dubbed as 'Frances sixth biggest city' and it's found that more French people live in London than in Bordeaux, Nantes or Strasbourg, and so some now regard it as France's sixth biggest city in terms of population.

We have daily exposure to the French language on many beauty and fashion products in department stores, in restaurants, art, ballet classes, wines, and with a lot of French fragrances sold in department stores.

When you said as a second language, it's after the english or as a second foreign language?
