In some East Asian countries two people of the same sex can hold hands together without it being sexual.

Girls can hold hands here too and no one would see it as sexual. Men on the other hand...

I think it's the same in Australia but two women walking hand-in-hand are still going to seen as in a sexual relationship by many onlookers. In general, walking hand-in-hand is reserved for couples around here.

It's seen as quite normal here, I think no one would see young girls holding hands as lesbians. However, it can have sexual conotation if the women are older or masculine looking as stereotypical lesbians.

It's not homosexuality, it's called Skinship. It's very common in South Korea (And I assume North Korea as well).

The term has also been adopted in South Korea as 스킨십 (seukinship). In South Korea, non-sexual physical contact between members of the same sex is normal, and is often encouraged. Seukinship largely refers to the act on bonding through intimate, non-sexual contact between platonic friends that includes, but is not limited to, holding hands, hugging, cuddling, kissing on the cheeks, and, sometimes, even bathing together.
