I was expecting you come up with something better than that and more difficult for me to refute.
Australia has many cities with over million of inhabitants. Buenos Aires is also a major city with over 2 million inhabitants. It would be profitable. There are flights with less potential for profit.

Dude, not every city flies to every city, and Perth is not Australia's largest city. You really are very ignorant on this issue.
Perth doesn't fly direct to London either. Conspiracy? Or perhaps, more likely, Perth is a small regional city on the wrong side of Australia and not enough people want to go there regularly enough to make it profitable despite the huge cultural connections.

Yes but Buenos Aires is not as rich or as connected to Australia as London is.
I'm sorry, but your entire line of argumentation is very, very stupid. Furthermore Santiago is geographically congruent with Buenos Aires. I mean, I know you can't see how idiotic your entire thought pattern is, but this particular subsection is even more woefully inept. If one can fly to Santiago, one can fly to Buenos Aires, except of course one may not want to. Indeed I doubt many people from Perth want to fly direct to Argentina and vice versa; why would they?
Does Perth fly direct to Calcutta? No. But they're closer than Perth and Argentina, and Calcutta has more than 2 million people. The simple fact is: no one wants to go.

Why not? Why would Australians want to go?
People go where the money is. Buenos Aires is not exactly in an economic high and Australian trade with Argentina isn't so high.
You're also ignoring the whole 'they go to Santiago' thing, which is not far off the flight path.
