The French are not overall quite as pale as the British who seem to have more narrow features. Though a few Northern French people look British, especially those from regions which were familiar to British people specifically Normandy and Brittany. You know the history, in other words regions which were heavily settled by British people at one point in time ( In this case, coastal Brittany) or regions of Northern France which were settled by Saxons around about the same time they went to England as well. We also see that the Y-DNA haplogroup R1b-subclade (Atlantic Branch) which prevails in Wales, Ireland, Highland Scotland, is also common in Britanny. While the most Germanic parts of France would show similarity to England. So as expected, as we go southwards French look less and less British. Now as a whole, I'd say the Northern Swiss, Southern Germans, Belgians, Southern Dutch look more like the Northern French than the British while Southern Swiss, Iberians and Italians look more like Southern French.
