Northern Europeans of the Protestant persuasion can be called WASP in North America despite not actually having Anglosaxon ancestry, but olive-skinned Roman Catholics will never be WASP or "Anglo" other than in a linguistic context.

Usually not I think but they could be if they anglicised their names and are protestant and only speak english not italian anymore. They are basically Anglo-American but if they have italian names are catholic and still retain some culture from italy etc. they probably are not.
