What you deem foreign is entirely arbitrary. No one is purely native in any way unless we make arbitrary definitions. And it was exactly when Europe was part of Christendom that Europe was at its peak. Christianity can't provide non-Christian people any sort of spirituality for very rather obvious reasons.
