Well, I started to learn German. My native language is Portuguese and my English is (almost) Fluent. So, do you guys have any hint about beginners on German? I started on duolingo, I'm getting the verbs, etc, regular verbs, this part is not so hard. But when I see a text or something, damn!

Honestly (British) English does help when it comes to pronunciation, a lot of words seem radically different at first, but when you pronounce them correctly they end up sounding similar to their English counterparts.

Have you tried the Rosetta Stone app? The first lessons are free, but then you have to pay for the rest of the lessons...

Try to sing some musics, just for relax and practice pronunciation.
I tried to study German alone, it was very difficult but I got the basics, then stopped and started French, it's hard as fuck.
