    BEEF STEW (CROCK POT)

    2lbs. Stew meat
    ½ cup flour (White/Wheat)
    1 ½ cups beef broth
    1 tsp. Worcestershire
    2-3 carrots, sliced
    3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 onion, quartered
    1 (28oz.) can tomatoes, drained & cut
    1 bay leaf

Put stew meat in crock pot and pour flour over meat: stir to coat meat,
Add beef broth; stir; Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix well,
Cook on low 10-12 hours, High 4-6 hours.

We think this is a delicious recipe for crock pot stew.

    And this 'ain't' no crock.

I have a Hamilton Beach one. I like it because you can take the pot out making it easier to clean.

All his meals for the week?

That must have been a large crockpot. He must have fed the freezer with meals as well. Is that what you are proposing to do?

    My crockpot broke.

I used to throw some butt roast or ribs in there, with a little water and a bottle of BBQ sauce, and just let it cook all day. Or a little chicken with some water, a can of corn and a can of tomatoes.

Here is my Halloween recipe. I make it on Trick or Treat night. Kids who come to the door always say "Your house smells so good!" It has an autumn sort of smell/ taste.

    Slow-simmered kidney beans

    6 bacon strips, diced
1/2 pound fully cooked Polish sausage or kielbasas, chopped
4 16-oz cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 medium sweet red peppers, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 cup ketchup
    1/2 packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup honey
    1/4 cup molasses
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp ground mustard
2 medium unpeeled red apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch pieces

In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to paper towels. Add sausage to drippings; cook and stir 5 minutes. Set aside.

In an ungreased 5-qt slow cooker, combine beans, tomatoes, red peppers, onion, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, salt and mustard. Stir in bacon and sausage. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours. Stir in apples. Cover and cook 2 hours or longer or until bubbly. Yield: 16 servings.

I have 4 crockpots (6-qt and 4-qt in the traditional deep shape, 4-qt casserole dish style and a 1/2-qt [for gravy])...have a pot of vegetables and mushrooms with a little roasted beef and stock for flavor going in one of them right now.

I'm thinking about getting one of these things.

I really like this idea as I hate to cook and wait for 40 minutes for a single meal.
I once saw a piece of performance art/avant-garde music that involved a man vomiting into a crock pot.
