My opinion? I write about Arabic language.

Many says it's a harsh language. It's harsh in a normal usage, but when used in poetry, it' beautiful and melodic. I prefer female vocal (for Arabic songs).

Both Arabic and Ancient North Arabian languages belong to the same brach, North Arabian, and these languages coexisted together for many centuries before Christ, and yes, they belong to the central semitic languages which Hebrew, Phoenician, Aramaic belong to. The ancient Qedarites were a north Arabian tribal confederation which the word, Arab, was used by the Assyrians in the 9th century BC.

I think it all depends of the dialect of the language. The beauty of the language is the standard and classical Arabic, while the harshness you hear comes from region dialects in the middle east and NA.
