Single parent households have a higher rate of children becoming criminals, more divorce, more single parents, more crime. Simple, 5 seconds on google.

I wasn't thinking exactly on crime, a society can decay on many levels, some of which do not necessarily involve criminal activity, but as beergarden pointed out there is indeed a correlation between single parenting household and crime.
I'll quote from one of his links "Single parenting effects children mentally, emotionally as well as psychologically." and I think that's the central issue. Children with divorced parents also tend to do less well on schools and have more depression, many of them will have an absent parental figure (usually the father) which is specially bad for boys who may lack an adequate masculine figure to look up to.

oh stop it you
I hear you. Well, crime affects the whole of us, and if something isn't criminal, then how does it negatively affect the whole of us? We have laws to protect the innocent...
So my question would be: does the world offend you? Because basically we're allowed to marry and divorce till our heart says, "plenty," under the law. Jeez, I'd hate to be living a 50-year miserable life with a psychotic bitch (pardon my language) whose voice makes my hair turn white, just to "benefit" of the rest of society... Get me?

Something does not have be outlawed to affect negatively society. Smoking is not outlawed, but if you had a society where 80% of the adults smoke a lot and everyday, this would weight negatively on society for a series of reasons. Being addicted to alcohol, sex or pornography is not illegal, but it affects negatively society if it becomes large scale.
There is no discussion that divorce affects negatively children. My parents are divorced, Dictator's parents are divorced (and he thumbed up my post), I've never heard any kid rejoicing at his parents spliting up, maybe it would be the lesser of two evils in some cases, but it's certainly not a desirable situation.

No action without reaction, as divorce become common, and custody generally granted to woman, men thinks that it doesn't worth the risk, so, let's just go to 1 night stands and play computer games afterall we are all about to found happiness.
