Tales in the bible virtually all have a source predating the bible itself. This disturbed me a long time, until I real about the theorized proto-indo-european religion. Symbols like the cross are indo-european in origin, and very old. Jesus is just a corruption of zeus. Thor was on the cross as well. Christianity was basically just returning concepts like self sacrifice and baptism that had been lost or distorted over time - essentially christianity didn't come into being but was the true form that always existed.

christianity has a lot of influences from pagan european pre-abrahamic religions i guess, jesus is the sun god before etc.
