Why do you worship the gods of Germans and Scandinavians and not your own?

Chechens have similar gods, the mountaineers believe in for example Tyr(god of war) germans have the same one. Or Freya(god of love i think) also same as germans. We even see Odin as a god but not upper god. We see him as a long distant traveller to the north and father of his people. Chechen pagans don't really have a upper god because we feel like we are equal, same for gods, all gods are equal we say. But we have also other chechen gods that germans don't have

To whatever Odinists and Rodnovers and whatever else may be reading this, how do you know that the Eddas, the Book of Veles, etc. are in fact genuine and were not crafted by an unseen elite long ago for propaganda purposes? Do you really think that the various mythologies, after having been subjugated for centuries by the various governments, somehow would have their tales and rituals left largely unmolested? How do you know that Ragnarok is really something that the ancient Norse believed in and is not (as presented today) molded after the Book of Revelations, to put a depressing damper on old spirituality and make it seem hollow and hopeless?
