classify gypsy family from transylvania

Very pure straight Indian looking individuals (child has classical Australoid features). Looking at them one realizes how much their type has been watered down since that age (early 19th century).

its a black and white photo so they look darker i bet they were not darker then modern gypsies and i dont think their type was watered down.

why do you insist that gypsies are australoid. you are one of the rare ones who insists on that. gypsies were in that time period classified and they were classified as caucasoid, not that i care, but i dont get your point and obsession

Pretty much everyone in this forum claims the same thing. All serious anthropologists that know something of India claim this thing as well. Gypsies, as all Indians, are a mix of Caucasoids that came during Neolithic from Iranian Plateau and Australoid indigenous people (whose languages are long before lost). Indians are in this way like Mexicans, only much more homogeneous (compare 7000 years of mixing with a mere 500 years to understand why). OP family shows natural Indian variability:
- child is mostly Australoid
- parents are mostly Caucasoid
They all look like being from same ethnic group...

true. but australoid in itself is a broad category, papuans look different then aboriginals and indian australoids look different then papuans and aboriginals, there are australoids who resemble more caucasoids then aboriginals. the child in the op indeed does look australoid but it might be just the picture and the hair and that looks so black but it also round head it might as well be alpinid with that hair and the dark picture it looks australoid. you often claimed that gypsies are above average australoid or even pass better in australia then india etc. when gypsies were classified as caucasoid, im sure their skull and features are caucasoid, they might have ancient australoid genes though

Australoid race does not exist. It is the least scientific one out of the major traditional races. Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid at least have genetic clusters, but australoids are unrelated to each other - especially ASI / Onge and Australian Abos.

wow some Gypsies in the old pictures look so fucking cool. their lives must have been much much more interesting than those of peasants back in the time. peasants had some hard time working the field and paying the shares to the landlords all over Europe back then. of course, many Gypsies were slaves back then too..
