I said you could hypothetically just as easily substitute say, Alexander the Great for Christ and the 12 Olympians for the 12 apostles. By the time Constantine converted on his death-bed (*cough* when his dead corpse was baptised) only 10% of the Empire was Christian. Christianity is just a mystery cult for everybody. Even after the hegemony of Christianity they still had to implement a quasi-polytheistic belief system with the Virgin, the Trinity, the communion of Saints etc.

No matter where monotheism goes it imposes itself over polytheistic populations who still manage to preserve their old customs.

Christianity was first utilized as a slave-religion, specifically designed for slaves. What and Who is Christ? He is passive, non-resistant, promoter of "peace" and "love". A preacher of docility and suffering, not strength and war. "Turn the other cheek", instead of kill those who slander your honor.

A domesticated religion for early, ancient civilization. Christianity was/is necessary to keep the masses in check. A society cannot have males infighting and killing each-other at every disagreement or slight. Thus Christianity eventually rose in power, and spread… while under the name and premise of monotheism.

Abrahamism makes immediate, common sense, when you interpret the "pop religions" as urban beliefs, religions designed for extremely large populations and nation-states, filled with large cities of ethnically and racially diverse people.

But the interpretations of christianity only go so far to explain human nature or supernatural divinity.

This thread should invite you other thinkers to analyze the idea of the gods. There is not "only one". And there certainly is not only one speaker, representation, interpretation, or authority of such beliefs. Dig into the past, learn for yourself, and discover the nature of the most ancient gods. They are inherited through every genealogy. No single, individual human can deny nor forget his/her past forever.

The gods have always spoken through humanity, just as a grandfather speaks through his grandson.

Reminder, the reference to 'King of Kings', or as it was said in its original from Shahanshah, is also of Iranian origin.

    Anything else to add?

You and Dictator did an excellent job of derailing the thread topic, perhaps somebody else will take interest in this topic in the future…

Fixing incorrect premises, thinking somehow that post-Classical Christianism was the first monotheistic philosophy, isn't derailing. Verify facts before building hypothesis.

    I didn't say that.

Christianity was the rise of the most powerful form of monotheism, which built upon Roman Imperialism. It's not contradictory to presume that monotheism (only one god) systems began elsewhere. But you have no proof to suggest otherwise, neither does Dictator.
