Default ISIS’ Attack on Ramadi Just Upended U.S. War Plans

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...war-plans.html

Momentum seemed to be swinging against ISIS. Then came an offensive in Iraq’s Sunni heartland.

ISIS is reportedly marching on key Iraqi city of Ramadi—upending the momentum that the U.S.-led military coalition seemed to have just days ago, and threatening to shatter an already delicate recent power shift that both the U.S. and Iraq hoped to exploit.

Until Wednesday’s reports about Ramadi both U.S. and Iraqi officials were examining what effects ISIS’ recent losses could have in future battles. The officials were even talking about where they would take down ISIS next. During his visit to Washington, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi suggested in an interview Wednesday with reporters that his troops could move on both Anbar province—where Ramadi in the local capital—and the oil-rich city of Baiji.

After months of territorial losses, stalemate and regression, ISIS started to progress again in both Iraq and Syria. In Iraq, they took the main government compound in Ramadi city, now the Iraqi army and Shia militias try to make a counter attack. In Syria, with lightning attack they close in on Palmyra where there is Unesco world heritage sites.

They need contain their advance or they will be flanked, ISIS is falling in a trap.

Germans used this tatic against russians in WWII, but russian used the sama tatic against them, but in giant scale (Cut the logistical lines and isolate pockets of troops to make them surrender or fight until the death).

    Interesting.
I think ISIS have a fighting force that is willing to die therefore they're going to win these battles. US can win only if they have their own ground troops in there. Anything else is a waste of money and weapons that is going to endup in ISIS hands anyway.
