It's worth to mention (for people from third countries) that Italy and Spain are a really dissimilar peoples. In fact the Italians I hate are the minority of "cultivated" ones admiring current Spain...you know, films like "Viva Zapatero", and shits like this: it's hard to conceive a moronic level above the one showed up by director filming on a leader from a strange land being in charge for not even a year.

I try to get a discussion going in FOOD, and even that fails(That's terrible). By eating you can communicate with each other.... flavour is like language!

For what i remember sicilian-neapolitan-americans and irish-americans went along very well save some fights at the beginning of the 20th century.
During the spanish rule of Naples It has been said too that neapolitans and spaniards were very similar in their piqaresque attitude.

Not the Italians per sè but rather the Southerners please.
This gross video unfortunately keep alive the stereotype of a single ethnicity whereas we have instead several folks with different attitudes and mindsets , it's a pity that abroad the bad manners of only a part of us , mostly the southerners , are taken as if they belonged to the northerners too.

Italians historically have been in worse conditions than spaniards. They have emigrated masively to many countries in the world( EEUU, Canada,Australia, Argentina, Brasil , Venezuela, Uruguay , France, Germany etc , etc , etc). Spaniards, with the exception of Argentina and France , didnt emigrate so masively.

Saved the syglo de oro I'd say quite the contrary , Italy has always been richer , culturally/economically advanced , way better linked to Europe and more populated than Spain.
A proof?Spaniards emigrated en masse in the past , to the colonies , and still in recent times (after WWII) to France Germany and someone even in Italy , that's why still today Italy have managed to sustain almost 200 people per square km while Spain less than half.
