While some anthropologists claim there are "alpha females", I personally disagree with this claim. Females only can be Beta, by gender, never Alpha. Because alpha status is something necessary for males to claim, not females. Females inherently have a subservient pathology.


While AMOGing produces stress, anxiety, and fear responses in human social circles, there are beneficial effects of these events. Alpha males would produce order and hierarchy. Male sexual infighting (Violence) would be relegated and controlled, even suppressed.

Every animal (including dogs) have intrinsic alpha recognizing pathologies, and detect the highest authority within a social circle subconsciously if not consciously (readily aware). The closer somebody is to alpha-male status, the more s/he will become aware of the heightened emotional states and subconscious reactions to AMOGing.

I've never backed down from a physical challenge, even when I knew I was outnumbered or that the other guy was stronger. I'd rather take a beating than tuck tail and run. If anyone tried to hit on my girl in my presence, I'd knock them out immediately, no hesitation. I'd also dump a girl who disrespected me in front of other guys straight away.

But sure, there have been instances where there were guys around me who were more 'alpha' than me, but never to an extent that I've felt insecure. I can get along with those types of guys just fine, and probably have a few alpha traits of my own.

Would I instinctively know I'm being AMOGed during an AMOGing?

Not necessarily, for males it depends on whereabouts you fit on social hierarchies. The closer you are to Alpha status, the more conscious you will become about AMOGing. For males, the most readily apparent examples are when two alpha males cross paths. The male gender inherently is territorial. So two alpha males cannot tolerate each-other in the same space. Understanding which males lay claim to which areas is the key to understanding AMOG.

When you are AMOGed then you are forced into an inferior social role or lower place on social hierarchy. Children tend to be oblivious and naively ignorant to such effects. But they occur regardless of awareness.

If you feel directly threatened by another male, usually a complete stranger, then you are being AMOGd.


AMOGing is about territorial disputes between alpha males. Beta and lower males will avoid direct confrontations.

There are other types of AMOGing. For example people can feel threatened by a physically larger & stronger person, a richer person, a more beautiful person, a smarter person, a wiser and older person (venerated town elder), etc. There are many values disputed in the process of AMOGing.

Good point about female competition, but, females don't have the same social and physical dynamic as males. As CFG mentioned already, females are vindictive and passive-aggressive. Males tend to be more frontal, aggressive, and physically violent.

This is also why males are about 10x the higher rate of violent criminal offenders than females.

Male social hierarchy is triangular (one at the top, everybody below).
Female social hierarchy is circular (cluster of women in the center, everybody else pushed out of society).
