It depends for what though.

Rivera del Duero is one of my favourite DDO (Denominacion de origen); They have fantastic Rosados and Verdejos to stroll the old town in a "chatos and pinchos" pilgrimage. They also produce some of the best tintos (reds) in the world, which contrary to popular believe, go very well with some fine "pescados" del Cantabrico. A simple supper I do some times here is a scramble of egg and a can of Gulas al ajillo (a Spanish baby-eel shaped surimi-style dish) and a bowl of aceitunas pacenses, those that look like they have burst open. This works as "entrantes" or as we say in my town "tentempies" while the merluza (haddock) in salsa verde is slow-cooking in the oven. All of this washed with a nice Crianza from southern Burgos.

The haddock of course isn't imported from the Cantabric, but rather fished in the northern sea....but hey...perks of living this far. It's not the same, and perhaps works better battered and served wih fries and mushy peas...but for a Spanish night it'll have to do
