Default Are British just Iberians without Moorish admixture?

Could be a very dumb question. I apologize if it is, not meant to offend anyone. But I heard that British are basically Iberians, and the Germanic and Brittonic blood are both minor. Some guy named Oppenheimer I think talked about it. That the British are genetically the same as the Spanish? I know Spanish do have Moorish admixture, and that's not meant to offend any Spaniards. Other than that what makes them different from the British? Maybe I'm way off, IDK. I know little about genetics. I am interested, though.

Iberians & Britons were most likely, not even alike genetically, 3000 years back( culturally maybe so).

    To answer the question, no.

Interesting. Isn't it true the Irish are related to the Basque people of Spain? I heard this somewhere too.

They are Iberians without the moorish (north african) ancestry and with an additional scando component of about 10%.

Here will come grace o malley again I am sure, to defend her peepuh from being associated with darker spaniards, but that's the truth.

As for having a different clade of r1b than basques LOL that means less than nothing. The split between basque and northern celtic is about one tenth as the distance between the celtic and scando components, but no one stans there and says that they are completely unrleated to english.

Irish americans often also match well to basques. Which was probably the case for Irish in general before mixing with english and lowland scots like crazy.

Apparently no one is more close to the Irish genetically than modern-day Basques. The British have R1b as well but less of this blood, because they are more mixed with other peoples...the Irish have been isolated for much of history so they are basically the same as the Iberian invader peoples from long ago. Apparently red hair gene comes from this too.

Iberians and Brits share genetic links, but Brits have much more North Euro admixture, and do not have the minor NW African and SSA.

Yes, British people are pale skinned Iberians with additional foreign influences.

It's the answer I was looking for thanks Sikeliot. But the Irish are even closer than the British to Iberians. Because Ireland was isolated for so long in history.

The other day I was watching a show on TV about English doing business in Spain and South France. The difference from the Iberians and English was quite noticeable. The southern French people were closer to Iberians. In both places the English stood out.
