Many people on this forum enjoy genetics and learning more about the genetics about populations from a certain area.

Threads which collect genetic are essentially research. You are researching information which can be used to either substantiate or disprove a claim.

However, there are human rights with regards to research which need to be respected when publishing such information.

Human Rights to be respected when positing genetic information are as follows:

The Right to Anonymity and Confidentiality

A person has the right to remain anonymous and nameless. All genetic results posted here from now on will be done WITHOUT the name of the person and WITHOUT photos of that person. If you want to post 23andme results, block out the name of this person. You are already using this information without their consent, the least you can do is to respect their right to anonymity and confidentiality.

The Right to Protection from Discomfort and Harm

Publishing of names and photos can cause emotional and psychological harm if the person finds their photos, linked to their names and genetic results on this site. In this case the risks outweigh the benefits of your research ie: a person's emotional and psychological well-being vs. the entertainment of others on an internet forum. The least we can do is to minimise the distress a person might experience if they discover their results on this site.

This is NOT negotiable.

In the event that you have already published such information, please remove it. If you are unable to do so, please contact a moderator who can help you.

The Apricity Staff reserve the right to alter or delete posts containing such information.

23andme results have to be posted without anything identifying the person it came from in the following manner:
