One of my good friends is of South Korean origin and is rather tall for a Korean at like 6 foot tall but having such a friend is not odd for New York but you said you are from Misouri, if I am not mistaken, so I'd imagine it is significantly less common there.

Koreans, along with Northern Chinese and Mongols are usually the tallest and stockiest of Mongoloid races.

You're welcome, Tangun! I think you might find the genetic research and analysis more interesting ( or not ). Some of us actually spent the cash required for autosomal DNA analysis from www.23andMe.com, www.dna.ancestry.com and familytreedna.com to have our genetic origins analyzed to a degree that family lore and paper trails could never realistically hope to match. Once we've got one of the above tests done, we'd download the raw data onto a free service known as gedmatch and have our nearness and distance to related populations explored and also analyzed. The genetic aspect of the Apricitian conversations might interest you something more than the taxonomy.

As Zhaoyun said, it's not that uncommon to find Koreans who are tall. I'm not tall myself at 5'10" but I have many taller male relatives. My uncle, for example, is 6'2'' and my brother and father are both about 6'.

I think among the Northern Han Chinese you'd find the highest frequency of 6'+ guys in Eastern Asia.

Other than that I'd say you're right, and I'd go with Manchus being the tallest East Asians.
